A new Board appointed for Sokli

The work of the six-member governing body will begin immediately.

A new Board of Directors has been appointed for Sokli Oy, and it will commence its work in March 2026. The Board consists of the following members:

• Kari Vyhtinen, M.Sc. (Eng.), eMBA, Chair of the Board
• Jani Kiuru, D.Sc. (Tech.), Vice Chair of the Board
• Juhani Itkonen, M.Sc. (Agr. & For.)
• Jukka Jokela, M.Sc. (Geol. & Min.)
• Teija Kankaanpää, M.Sc. (Eng.)
• Jarmo Santala, M.Sc. (Econ.)

The duties of a Board of Directors include e.g. ensuring the proper administration of the company and the appropriate organization of its operations.

Sokli Oy is developing the Sokli mining project in Savukoski, Eastern Lapland. The mineral deposit is globally significant and contains, in addition to phosphate and iron, rare earth elements, manganese, vermiculite and niobium. Utilising these reserves would strengthen Finland’s and Europe’s raw material selfsufficiency.
