Open local cooperation
Sokli's goal is to be an open, honest and locally visible operator.
We maintain and develop dialogue with local operators. Our goal is to ensure the coordination of current livelihoods and mining operations.
We strive for dialogue, for example, with Sokli coffees open to everyone, which we organize regularly at the Sokli office in the center of Savukoski.
At the events, we get to interact with residents and businesses in the area, tell about the progress of our work and hear wishes about what local residents would like to hear more about. We take feedback into account as well as possible, so that matters of interest to local people are addressed.
Local expertise and maintaining vitality essential
The locals know the conditions of the Sokli area best. That's why we want to recruit local employees and contractors whenever possible. This is how we can build Sokli together, strengthening local know-how and vitality.
Check out our open positions and read about our contracting needs on the Open positions and Information for contractors pages.
The majority has a positive attitude towards the opening of the mine
According to a survey conducted by Taloustutkimus in the 2025, the majority of people living in Savukoski support the opening of the mine in Sokli, provided that the mine operates responsibly in terms of the environment and local livelihoods. The majority also agrees that minerals extracted in Finland should be processed further domestically and not exported.
